Equipment Loan Service

How we can help you

We provide short term loans of equipment to help you manage at home and in the community.

We have equipment available to help you to walk, shower and use the toilet. There are also cushions for people who have pain from lying or sitting too long.

All equipment must be ordered and fitted by an Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist or Registered Nurse.

There is no cost for the loan of equipment. If you need the equipment for a long time you may be able to buy it.

Clients who live in Randwick, Bayside, Waverly and Woollahra are eligible to access the service. We also provide a limited service to the eastern part of the Sydney City.

We will not loan equipment to a person who is a permanent resident of a Nursing Home or in a Private Hospital. A client moving out of the area or to a Nursing Home must notify the ELP and return the loaned equipment.

You must have an assessment by a health professional to access the loan equipment. Health professionals include Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists or Nursing staff with equipment assessment skills.

The health professional handles the installation of the equipment in your home. They will also educate you and your carers on the safe use of the equipment.

Your health professional will call the ELP Coordinator to arrange your equipment.

Equipment is loaned for up to a 3 months. You can purchase the equipment at the end of the loan period if it is available for sale. We will arrange free delivery and pick up of the equipment.

Lost equipment and/or damage other than normal wear and tear must be paid for. We will send you an invoice for the replacement cost of items.

Contact the ELP Coordinator for more information.
