Prince of Wales is a part of the Randwick Hospital Campus, adjacent to Sydney Children's Hospital, Royal Hospital for Women and Prince of Wales Private Hospital.

POWH is a tertiary & quaternary referral hospital with a full range of services. Some of these services include Interventional Cardiac Services, Renal Transplantation, HIV Medicine, Infectious Diseases, Thalassaemia service, a comprehensive Epilepsy service, Spinal Medicine and the State's Hyperbaric chamber. The University of New South Wales medical school is located on an adjoining campus, with many clinical academics on site. At POWH, you also have access to higher research degrees in a range of specialties such as Neurology, Infectious Diseases, Nephrology, Respiratory Medicine and many more.
 
POWH is part of the NSW Health Science Alliance and The Bright Alliance. The Bright's flagship is a purpose-built facility in the POWH Campus that houses the Nelune Comprehensive Cancer Centre (NCCC) and Scientia Clinical Research, a clinical trials facility with specialist expertise in early phase trials.

There is an average of 800 beds on the Randwick Hospital Campus (with 500 in the adult public hospital).
