Save our Emergency Department for emergencies

The St George Hospital Emergency Department is a very busy place, and each year presentations peak during the winter period.

In 2018, between June and August, more than 20,000 patients presented to the Emergency Department.

Presentations are often varied, and can include abdominal pain, gastroenteritis, lacerations, sprained ankles, vomiting, viral illness, minor fractures and dental abscesses.

Remember, if you are experiencing:

  • Serious illness or injury
  • Suspected heart attack or stroke
  • Breathing problems
  • In need of urgent medical attention

Go to the Emergency Department, or call 000 immediately.
